Who We Are
Cox & Company and its predecessor firms has been serving clients in the Golden area
for more than thirty years. Our clientele consists primarily of small to medium sized
businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals who require tax planning and services
beyond traditional accounting. Our mission is to provide outstanding service and value
for all accounting, tax and business requirements.
To accomplish this, our firm maintains a high level of standards and
procedures, and our personnel regularly participate in professional development programs
to ensure that our standard of service remains high. We are proud of our reputation, and
are continually striving to build on it by delivering expanded services and an unparalleled
commitment to our clients.
To better serve our business clients, Cox & Company
also offers a separate consulting division which focuses on
financial management, business consulting, business plans and proposals and independent
financial planning. The consulting division works closely with the accounting staff to
ensure that all figures used in plans and reports are accurate, current and relevant.
Kevin M. Cox, Certified General Accountant

In addition to his Certified General Accountant designation (CGA), Kevin holds a Bachelor of
Commerce from the Haskayne School of Business, has completed the Canadian
Securities Course and has made a serious commitment to continually expanding
his knowledge of Canadian tax law. He has been the proprietor of Cox & Company since 1999,
and from 1992 was a partner in the predecessor firm of Goldie, Cox & Associates. Before
entering the accounting industry, Kevin worked in commercial and investment banking with the
Royal Bank of Canada, and his experience in financing and investing has proved highly beneficial
to his clients. Kevin writes a business column in the local paper, and is very active in the
local community, both through his many sports and as a community sponsor. As a local accountant, Kevin has a
large clientele, to which he provides tax planning, auditing, estate planning and business advice.
Lindsey Cox, Management Consultant

Lindsey has a BA in Communications and
a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). She has worked as a communications and
business consultant for Cox & Company since 1999,
expanding that service into a separate consulting division of Cox & Company. Lindsey
also has an extensive history in small business management, and provides services to start-up
businesses as well as those looking to expand. She writes a business column in the
local paper and is involved in a number of community programs. Lindsey
specializes in corporate writing, and in business plans and proposals.
Frank Goldie, Accountant

Frank has been an accountant with Cox & Company and its
predecessor firms for more than 30 years. He has considerable expertise in
accounting for forestry related companies, and has developed
a solid and loyal clientele. His long history in the community provides him
with a unique and valuable perspective on business in the area.
Michele Brooker, Accounting Technician

Michele holds a diploma in Computer Systems and a certificate
in Bookkeeping, as well as an Associate of Arts degree. In addition to
providing technical back-up for the accountants, she also provides training
and support in monthly bookkeeping and in various software programs to both
staff and clients.
Hilary Smith, Certified General Accounting Student

Hilary is working towards her CGA designation, and is
currently doing her work practicum with Cox and Company. It is her
goal to develop her skills in all aspects of public accounting, including
monthly bookkeeping, non-resident tax, as well as personal and corporate tax
returns. An avid outdoors person, Hilary takes full advantage of the
many activities the Golden area has to offer, including skiing, snowboarding
and mountain biking.
Brandi Romano, Executive Assistant

In addition to her administrative work, Brandi deals with
all areas of government policy and regulations, as pertaining to small
business. She makes a point of staying current with changes in
regulations, and is able to provide new and existing clients with up-to-the
minute advice on PST, GST, WCB and other government regulations and
requirements. Brandi is also highly proficient in all aspects of
payroll, and is a valuable source of information for new business clients.
